Given our RP rules are so short, and so broad, and the INTENT of our rules are so vastly different from those of other RP sims I thought I'd take some time to clarify them to people who have questions about them, so that people understand the way we choose to interpert the wording of our rules. This will also help non-native English speakers understand some of what we're talking about.
Q: What happens if someone tries to do something to my character I don't like? They still have to respect my limits, right?
A: This is not a BDSM sex sim. It is an improvised RP sim. We don't function on a consent-based RP system. Participating in the game is consent -- however, if a given RP is uncomfortable to you: You are allowed to fade-to-black and fast-forward through scenes that make you squeamish. This does not mean the consequences of RP is ignored -- it just means they happen off camera. Where The City of Llorkh invented the phrase: "Reasonable Right To Life"... Mhirdrun's catch-phrase should probably be: "Shit happens."
Q: Do X race start with higher or different stats than other races?
A: No. All races have the same stat-bonuses. The difference between characters are what secondary skills they value, and what moves they choose to select.
Q: Can I play a class or race not on the list?
A: No -- however if you speak to an admin, they may add new stuff for you. Something new may be added to the list of advanced or powerful characters if deemed appropriate to the setting. Because such characters are population limited, the admins are relatively liberal about adding unique creature types. Adding new creatures and classes takes time though; moves need to be written etc.
Q: What if someone on the sim is blocked/RP banned by me from a previous sim?
A: RP bans are expressly disallowed on this persistent world sim. Anyone RP banning or intentionally ignoring the RP of individuals or groups that are participating within the sim environment will be considered to be "at fault". If you feel that mediation is needed between yourself and another, then admins are willing to work with you. The person NOT willing to work things out, hear apologies or otherwise make the hand-shake is likely to be considered "at fault". Anyone who is "at fault" or otherwise disrupts the natural flow of IC roleplay on the server will be asked to leave the role-play until such a time as they are willing to roleplay as an equal partner with those 'RP banned'.
